Kraft is introducing Salad frosting for kids. But will they actually fall for it?
Its not frosting or cake icing at all. It’s just Kraft’s classic ranch dressing repackaged as “Salad Frosting”, in a squeezable tube. Kraft is pitching the product as an “innocent, smart lie” to help parents get kids to eat healthier. Salad will taste better with ‘frosting’ on it (or icing as most Canadians call it).
Problem is, according to CNN, two tablespoons of Kraft’s ranch dressing has just about the same number of calories, double the fat, and four times more sodium than the same amount of Betty Crocker vanilla cake frosting. So it may not be as has healthy as parents are led to believe
And you gotta wonder how many kids, come desert time, will pour this salad frosting stuff on their cake? If so, they are in for a weird taste surprise
