Its as new data from the BC CDC shows an additional 22 cases identified between Dec. 20 and Dec. 26, up from seven cases identified the week prior. Data also shows a cumulative total of ‘above 85 cases’ in the Revelstoke region between January and December 2020 – with at least 36 cases coming in December alone.
“There is no specific source for the new cases. It is for this reason all residents and businesses are reminded of the importance of COVID-19 testing at the first sign of symptoms in addition to keeping social bubbles small,” a statement from Interior Health said, noting on a per capita basis, the weekly and cumulative totals are higher than many areas of the province.
The health authority is asking people to keep up with their efforts to prevent the community transmission of the virus.
“Interior Health is grateful to local elected and community leaders for their support as we work closely together to remind everyone not to stigmatize or judge others who seek testing or test positive for COVID-19,” added the statement.
