
New data from the BC CDC shows 21 cases of COVID-19 in the Kamloops Local Health Area between Dec. 6 and Dec. 12., down from 26 last week.
That’s compared to 349 cases in the Central Okanagan Local Health Area, which includes the City of Kelowna, an increase from 314 cases last week. Only the Surrey Local Health Area has more COVID-19 cases last week with 1,484, while Abbotsford and Burnaby were tied for third with 341 cases.
Closer to Kamloops, in the Salmon Area there were 11 cases (up by 6), 36 in Vernon (up by 15), one each in Lillooet and Merritt (both up by one) as well as in Revelstoke (down by six).
There were no cases in South Cariboo (down by two), 100 Mile House (down by one), and North Thompson – which has yet to see a case of COVID-19 reported over the course of the pandemic.
Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Henry says the BC CDC will start posting COVID-19 data based on the province’s 89 local health regions once a week on Wednesday.
