Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the Village by the Station long-term care home in Penticton.
It says one staff member and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19, and everyone who came in close contact with the two are in self-isolation and monitoring for symptoms.
The assisted living and independent living sections of the facility are not affected by the outbreak, at this time.
“IH will continue to monitor the situation, while implementing additional infection control and preventive measures,” a statement from the Health Authority said.
“To protect the safety of all residents, outbreak protocols are in place, including a pause in all visits at this site.”
Village by the Station is privately owned and operated by the Good Samaritan Society with 100 publicly funded long-term care beds.
